Lehigh Acres man wanted after violating release terms for burglary spree

A man who served time in prison for a series of burglaries in Lehigh Acres is now wanted again after violating the terms of his release.

According to Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers, Christopher Allen, 33, was originally arrested on 26 counts of burglary and grand theft following a crime spree that targeted multiple homes in the community.

Crime Stoppers said the man broke into homes at all hours, stealing power tools and other items. Investigators linked him to more than 200 pawned items, all traced back to the burglaries.

Allen was sentenced to five months in the Lee County Jail, followed by a year and a half in prison. Upon his release, he was placed on house arrest, which he has now violated, leading to a new warrant for his arrest.

He has previous arrests in Southwest Florida for fraud, drug-related offenses, theft, and dealing in stolen property.

Allen is described as 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighing 165 pounds. Officials believe he may be moving between Lee and Sarasota counties in an attempt to evade law enforcement.
