A man is behind bars for attempting to burglarize a Tesla in Port Charlotte.
Diamond Baber, 32, is facing charges of conspiracy to commit third-degree felony burglary.
The incident took place off U.S. 41 on Sunday morning behind Leader's Furniture store in Port Charlotte.
Deputies said Baber attempted to gain access to the Tesla, which was equipped with seven built-in cameras strategically placed around the vehicle.
The cameras, which are integrated into the doors and bumpers, silently recorded the suspect's every move as he tried to break into the locked car.
After receiving an alert on his phone, the owner immediately called 911.
Deputies arrived at the scene just minutes later, finding Baber at a nearby Mobil gas station.
He was arrested shortly after the failed burglary attempt.
