An arrest has been made in connection to a hit-and-run crash in Sarasota that killed two children and seriously injured a woman.
The crash happened on the night of February 10 on State Road 683 (N. Washington Boulevard) near 7th Street.
According to the Sarasota Police Department, the driver of a Lexus fled the scene after the collision involving a family. Police said a 2-year-old and 5-month-old died, and a 29-year-old woman was seriously injured in the crash.
Investigators were able to locate the suspected vehicle and its driver. On Monday, June Fenton, 72, was arrested on two counts of leaving the scene of a traffic crash resulting in a fatality and another count of leaving the scene of a traffic crash resulting in serious injury.
The Sarasota Police Department said Fenton was placed into custody and taken to the Sarasota County Jail, where she remains at this time.
