A child pornography tip submitted by Google to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) led to the arrest of a Naples man on Tuesday.
Nicholas Bradford James, 37, is facing more than a dozen child pornography charges following his arrest.
The tip was sent to NCMEC by Google on Feb. 2 after they said they discovered multiple child pornography files that they believed contained possession, manufacture and distribution on a Gmail account.
On Feb. 12, the Collier County Sheriff's Office began an investigation after receiving a report from NCMEC.
Detectives got a search warrant approved for Braford's Google account. Google provided detectives with eight images and one video that depicted children ranging between 5 and 16 years old.
According to CCSO, the files contained minors acting in lewd exhibition with their genitalia.
After reviewing the account, detectives said there were numerous artifacts which confirmed the account belonged to Braford.
Those contents included:
- Images of Bradford
- Financial transactions
- Images of his Florida driver's license
- Images of his registered vehicle
- Screenshot images with his name
Detectives said the investigation determined that the account was accessed at 5050 Blauvelt Way. A search warrant for the residence was approved on Tuesday around 6:30 a.m.
According to the arrest report, detectives arrested Bradford after seeing him exit the residence.
Detectives spoke with Bradford who confirmed his email address, but stated that his account was hacked before invoking his right to an attorney.
Bradford was arrested and taken to the Naples Jail Center where he faces eight counts of possession of child pornography and seven counts of transmission of child pornography.
