Bald eagles are popular birds in our part of Florida. New in Positively Gulf Coast, two fifth graders in Collier County have officially found a new nest.
Damian and Joey attend Vineyards Elementary School. The school posted their photo on Facebook, saying thanks to Roche and the students’ work, Audubon EagleWatch has named its nest CO9541. The nest rests on a tower, according to the post.
Audubon's EagleWatch program has a map of nests across our area. According to their site, Audubon EagleWatch seeks information about bald eagles, active nest locations, and possible disturbances or threats to nesting activities.
