Authorities are searching for a convicted sexual predator who has disappeared from Southwest Florida, violating the conditions of his release. A warrant has been issued for his arrest.
According to law enforcement officials, Gayraan Gaiter was convicted in 2001 in Miami-Dade County on multiple charges, including sexual battery on a child, lewd and lascivious battery, carjacking, robbery and incest.
He served nearly 20 years in prison before moving to Lehigh Acres upon his release. As part of his legal obligations, he was required to regularly check in with authorities, but officials say he has failed to do so in recent months.
Gaiter, 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighing about 300 pounds, has several tattoos, including a skull with flames and a scroll on his right arm and the phrase “No fear” on his back.
Authorities urge anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact law enforcement.
