Authorities are searching for a Fort Myers man accused of aggravated battery and aggravated child abuse after he failed to appear in court.
According to Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers, Juan Zambrano, 29, was initially arrested after a violent incident at his home, where he is accused of attacking two people with a broken beer bottle.
Law enforcement said the incident began when the Zambrano, who had been drinking, entered his roommates’ bedroom and attempted to start a fight. When they ignored him, he allegedly grabbed one of them by the neck and began punching them.
He then broke a beer bottle and struck both an adult and a teenager, causing serious injuries. Deputies responded quickly and took him into custody, charging him with multiple counts of violence.
After spending a few days in jail, the man was released pending his court appearance.
However, instead of attending his scheduled hearing, he failed to show up, prompting authorities to issue a warrant for his arrest.
Zambrano is described as 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing 105 pounds. Upon his arrest, he will be held without the opportunity to post bond. Authorities urge anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact law enforcement.
