A man convicted of aggravated assault against a woman and child is wanted in Lee County after violating his probation.
According to Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers, Daniel McMillen, 39, had been on state probation for four years after being found guilty of a violent confrontation with a woman that escalated to an attack on a child.
Deputies said McMillen got into a heated argument with a woman, locked her in a bathroom, and held her at knifepoint while four children were in the home.
One of the minors intervened to help the victim, prompting McMillen to drag the child by the hair and slam him against a wall. Authorities said the man left the home but was arrested two days later.
He was found guilty of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and sentenced to probation.
However, he has since violated its terms and is now wanted. The sheriff’s office said McMillen has prior arrests for aggravated assault, child abuse, and domestic violence-related false imprisonment.
McMillen is described as 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing 160 pounds. Law enforcement officials said he is subject to extradition nationwide. Once arrested, he will be held without bond at the Lee County Jail.
