A repeat offender with a history of violence is on the run after attacking a woman during an argument in Fort Myers.
According to Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers, Brian Regalado, 34, who has previously been found guilty of violent crimes, grabbed the victim by the neck, threw her to the ground, and choked her. He then pinned her down with his knees and covered her mouth before she managed to escape. The woman suffered bruising and injuries to her face, neck, hands, and arms.
Regalado was convicted of false imprisonment and battery by strangulation, serving nearly a year in jail before being placed on probation.
He later violated that probation and has since been moving between Fort Myers and Naples.
Regalado has been arrested nine times in Lee and Collier counties for various violent offenses, including battery on a law enforcement officer.
Authorities describe Regalado as 5 feet, 7 inches tall, weighing 140 pounds. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to contact law enforcement immediately.
