A man was found shot and killed early Monday in a residential parking lot in Immokalee, prompting a homicide investigation.
According to the Collier County Sheriff's Office incident report, deputies responded to a reported shooting at 12:26 a.m. on the 200 block of S 1st Street.
When they arrived, they found Jean Stevenson Aristilde, 32, from Haiti, lying face down with a gunshot wound. Emergency responders determined he had died at the scene.
Detectives interviewed several bystanders, but no witnesses reported seeing the shooting.
A single shell casing was found near Aristilde’s feet, and investigators believe he was shot once.
His mother arrived at the scene, accompanied by a friend of the victim, after learning about the shooting to identify the body.
The Collier County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes and Crime Scene units were called to the location to process evidence.
Authorities said a suspect has not been identified, and no arrests have been made.
