A windsurfer was rescued on Monday after being carried a mile offshore between Fort Myers Beach and Sanibel due to strong winds.
According to the Lee County Sheriff's Office, its marine unit responded after receiving reports of a person in distress on the water.
Deputies found the windsurfer struggling to return to shore and quickly brought them to safety.
The body camera footage above from the responding deputies captured the dramatic rescue.
The windsurfer was returned to the shore safe with all of his gear.
