Authorities are searching for a woman accused of violating probation following an arrest for using the debit card of an older man in assisted living to buy vapes and Visa gift cards.
According to reports, authorities are searching for Nadia Henson, 31, following a probation violation.
According to reports, a woman called the Cape Coral Police Department on Feb. 1 to report a fraudulent use of her father's debit card. He was living at the Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center of Cape Coral off Del Prado Boulevard.
Officers spoke to the victim, who said he did not give the card to anyone to use, and he has not used the debit card for about a year.
The victim's daughter told police there were four charges made on the card that were not authorized, totaling $245.83. A $50 gift was reportedly also taken.
On February 9, detectives visited the businesses where the fraudulent charges were made. At a Race Trac gas station right next to the facility, the suspect reportedly purchased Juul nicotine devices, snacks and a drink.
Detectives also visited a Walgreens across the street, where the suspect reportedly used the card to buy two Vanilla gift cards.
On Feb. 16, detectives went to the Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center of Cape Coral to speak with staff. A supervisor then identified the suspect as Henson, a Certified Nursing Assistant.
On March 7, detectives met with the victim, who recognized Henson from a surveillance video and confirmed with police that she was his caretaker.
Detectives say they attempted to call Henson before she agreed to come to the station.
The investigation found that the Vanilla gift cards for "Lyft" charges.
The Lyft account was registered to Henson. One of the Lyft rides charged to the gift card was the ride Henson took to the police station for questioning, and one was to go home.
On June 14, officers found Henson at work at another care facility, called Aspire at North Fort Myers. Since the facility on Pondella Road is in another jurisdiction, the Lee County Sheriff's Office assisted in arresting Henson.
Henson was recently placed on 48 months of state probation, which authorities say she has violated. Henson was reportedly last seen living in Southeast Cape Coral.
