Workers at Nervous Nellie's are heartbroken after hearing Jaciey Hogan was killed in a crash Wednesday morning . She worked as a hostess and just celebrated her 17th birthday over the weekend.
When general manager Danny Timothy said goodbye to Jaciey on Tuesday, he didn't expect it to be the last time.
"I remember telling her to have a good night and said, you know, bye to her," Timothy said.
Jaciey was a South Fort Myers High School student who worked at the restaurant part-time for six months. Timothy told Gulf Coast News she greeted everyone with a smile.
One man said Jaciey had a passion for riding dirt bikes.
"She was very energetic, outgoing, you know, very, very hard worker, that's what she was you know, that's why she was recommended that she come work for us," he added.
Timothy knows Jaicey's family well and can't imagine what her mom is going through. Jaicey was killed in a T-bone crash on Gladiolus Drive Wednesday morning.
"There's just no words for what her mom and her family must be going through, and you know, she was she was very close to a lot of us here," Timothy said.
For now, Timothy and the staff at Nervous Nellie's are going to take it one day at a time.
"It's just unbelievable that she's not going to be with us anymore. We just can't believe it, and it's just one of those things we're just still processing," he said.
