The roads were calm on Tuesday near the roundabout at Corbett and Littleton Roads in North Fort Myers, but what happened Monday evening would've made you think twice. A driver was caught on camera in their SUV driving the wrong way.
"I mean, I can't say that I'm shocked; my grandma would do some, something like that," said Didiah Hall a North Fort Myers resident.
Hall lives near the roundabout, after Gulf Coast News showed him the video, he wasn't too happy.
"Just ridiculous, it's kind of getting old," he added.
Drivers say there are plenty of signs explaining how to use the roundabout. They believe the only way for this to happen is if the driver behind the wheel wasn't paying attention.
"I see a lot of close calls just going to work every single day," said Lisa Scott.
Lisa says wrong way drivers put others in danger and are breaking the law. Something she shouldn't have to worry about at all.
"I think a lot of it is the older generation. Unfortunately, that have had years of experience under their belt that probably shouldn't be doing these things or no, not to do these things, and it seems like it's always the young kids that get blamed for it," she said.
While it's unclear how long the driver was stuck in the roundabout, or how they ended up there, drivers are hoping it doesn't happen again.
"I hope they're embarrassed and they do better and, maybe, learn from the experience," said Scott.
