Bowlers are showcasing their abilities and personalities through a new league in Estero. The STARability Foundation is transforming lives in our community. It's Positively Gulf Coast.
The foundation helps people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Their bowling program had been based in Naples. The opening of 810 Entertainment at Miromar Outlets gives the foundation a more central location for participants across Collier and Lee Counties.
Connor Nehls is the director of engagement for the foundation. He explained participants, “just want to be included in everything regardless of their disability which is why we shine light on their ability.”
About two dozen participants showed up to help kickstart the league at 810 Entertainment back on March 10. Foundation participants also enjoy baseball, basketball, golf, yoga, tennis, pickleball and soccer programs.
Now, leaders at the bowling alley are looking forward to the foundation’s bowlers every Monday.
