Hendry County deputies impounded 11 mixed-breed cows found running loose Wednesday in the Pioneer Plantation community, beween LaBelle and Clewiston.
According to the Hendry County Sheriff’s Office, agriculture deputies captured the cows near Lakeview and Pioneer 16th Street before transporting them to the agency’s impound lot.
Authorities are asking anyone who may own the livestock to contact the sheriff’s office at 863-674-5600 and request to speak with an agriculture deputy.
Under Florida law, the sheriff’s office must post information and photos of impounded livestock online. If the animals are not claimed within three days, they may become the property of the county.
