A death investigation is underway at a home along Braman Avenue in Fort Myers. Fort Myers police are now calling this a homicide.
The investigation began on the night of Sunday, March 16.
According to the Fort Myers Police Department report, someone went inside the house and found a large amount of blood and a man dead in a bathroom.
FMPD said the person who called 911 then became uncooperative with the dispatcher and refused to give them their ID.
Neighbors told Gulf Coast News last week people shouldn't be living in the home as it may have been abandoned.
Police said there was a vehicle in the driveway of the condemned structure. According to the report, the front door was locked and they saw a van parked at the end of a wall under an awning.
According to the report, officers also found a red gas canister, cleared the house and didn't find anyone else.
Police said there is a person of interest in the case.
Gulf Coast News is working to find out the identity of the man who died and who might be the person of interest mentioned in the report.
