A brush fire near Interstate 75 in Collier County is prompting a right-lane closure at Mile Marker 110 before Vanderbilt Beach Road.
According to the Florida Forest Service , as of 6:43 p.m., the fire is at 10 acres, and 95% containment and mop-up operations are in progress. Officials said the fire is near I-75 south of Immokalee Road. The FFS said four tractor-plows, two aircraft and local fire departments were responding to the scene.
Fire crews have secured the north line, and along I-75, FFS officials said.
Evacuations are underway in the Wilshire Lakes community, according to the Collier County Sheriff's Office. Deputies are going door to door in Wilshire Lakes.
According to the Collier County Sheriff's Office , all lanes of Vanderbilt Road are closed between Oakes Boulevard and Livingston Road due to the fire.
Deputies warned people to not operate drones in the area of the brush fire as it is impeding fire units.
The Collier County government said North Collier Regional Park, which is located at 15000 Livingston Road, is closed due to a brush fire in a preserve area.
