The jury in the trial of Nicholas Canfield is now seated.
The North Fort Myers man is accused of sexually abusing, beating and murdering 2-year-old Jaliyah Ramos in 2020.
The young girl's mother, who Canfield was dating at the time, went to work but came home to find her baby girl dying in a bathtub.
Canfield said he found little Jaliyah unresponsive and was giving her CPR when they arrived.
On Monday, he was offered a plea deal but chose to go to trial. Now, he's facing the death penalty.
