Lee Health is now allowed to stay at their Golisano Children's Health Center in Naples.
Lee Health filed a lawsuit Monday against Nicklaus Children's hospital based in Miami, after the hospital allegedly tried to remove them from the health center located at the corner of Pine Ridge Road and Livingston Road.
The Naples Golisano Children's Health Center offers a wide range of services, including cardiology, oncology, urgent care, and therapies for children with autism.
According to Lee Health, Nicklaus has since formally withdrawn their notice of termination of sublease.
This legal dispute started when Nicklaus threatened to end the lease by Friday, April 4, allegedly refusing to recognize Lee Health's lease after it transitioned to a private nonprofit last fall.
Lee Health shared the following statement with Gulf Coast News:
"Lee Health is pleased that the immediate threat to Collier County families’ access to healthcare has been addressed with a pause to the April 4 th eviction of services at the Golisano Children’s Health Center in Naples, ensuring access to essential pediatric care for our Collier County children. This decision ensures that thousands of families can continue to receive the specialized care they depend on, without immediate interruption.
We appreciate Miami-based Nicklaus Children’s Hospital for recognizing Golisano Children’s Health Center's vital role in providing healthcare services to thousands of families during their most vulnerable times. This facility is not just a building — it is a trusted beacon of hope and healing for families navigating complex pediatric health challenges."
