Deputies say the couple’s four children were inside a Naples Manor home along Hardee Street at the time of the shooting, and one of them called 911.
Neighbors, who spoke off camera, are shaken up. Last month, a young woman was shot and killed not too far from the scene, and now this incident has occurred.
One neighbor said the family seemed nice and happy with their kids and did not know why the husband would do this.
Deputies found the shooter’s wife bleeding on the patio from a gunshot wound to the stomach. She told them her husband shot her.
Deputies found 34-year-old Felix Miranda Gonzalez lying face down near a shed with a gunshot wound to the head and a gun under his body.
Neighbors heard his wife screaming and ran over to the home on Hardee Street yesterday afternoon to help.
Deputies say the wife is in critical condition but still alive at the hospital. A relative said the family would like privacy during this troubling time.
