April is Distracted Driving Awareness Month, which highlights the need to drive cars without distractions like cellphones in order to guarantee safer driving.
This month comes just in time — the Florida Senate is currently reviewing a bill ( SB 1318 ) aimed at expanding restrictions on cell phone use while driving.
Senate bill sponsor Erin Grall said distracted driving in Florida is a major problem.
A similar bill in the House has yet to be taken up by any committee as the 2025 legislative session reaches its midway point.
