Cape Coral city leaders are expected to vote on using tourist tax funds to help pay for the beach expansion of the Cape Coral Yacht Club, which is part of the project to rebuild the area after Hurricane Ian.

The resolution amends an existing agreement with Lee County to use tourist tax funds for the beach's shoreline and substructure improvements. The total cost for the beach expansion is more than $800,000.
This feature is just one part of the new Cape Coral Yacht Club project, which aims to bring a Key West vibe to the area.
The construction of the pier is not expected to start until at least October.
Wednesday's Cape Coral City Council meeting is at 5 p.m.
