Help is on its way if your home was damaged by hurricanes Helene or Milton in 2024.
Lee County homeowners can pre-apply for the LeeCares Hurricane Housing Recovery Program starting now up until Sept. 30.
In order to qualify, you must be a Lee County homeowner and income-eligible.
Requirements are set at 80% of the area's median income adjusted for household size.
For example, one person must make up to $52,450, while a household of two makes up to $59,950.
The damage to your home must have been caused by the 2024 storms, such as Helene and Milton.
After the initial screening, you will need to submit a full application to proceed with the HUD Grant process. you can pre-apply for the LeeCares Hurricane Housing Recovery Programs leeflcares.com .
If you have trouble with your application or have any questions, you will be able to get help in person at Leecares Intake Center along Gladiolus Drive in Fort Myers from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
