A Bonita Springs man is wanted by authorities after violating his probation in connection to a DUI and crash case earlier this year.
According to Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers, deputies responded around 2 a.m. to a crash involving Mateo Jose-Mateo, 23, and another driver.
Deputies said Jose-Mateo appeared intoxicated, struggled through field sobriety tests and admitted to drinking six beers earlier that night.
A breath test taken two hours after the crash still showed his blood alcohol level at more than twice the legal limit.
Jose-Mateo was taken into custody and later released on probation after serving three months in jail. But officials said he violated that probation two weeks ago.
He is now wanted on three active warrants and will be held without bond once arrested.
Crime Stoppers said Jose-Mateo has five prior arrests tied to a separate hit-and-run crash and other offenses. He is described as 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighing 130 pounds.
