A Cape Coral woman remains on the run after violating her probation earlier this year, prompting law enforcement to renew calls for the public’s help in locating her.
According to Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers, Melissa Murr, 35, was previously convicted of stealing money from a gift shop cash register at her former airport job.
Surveillance footage showed her repeatedly pocketing amounts between $50 and $370. After her arrest, she served two months in jail and was placed on probation. That probation was violated in January, and Crime Stoppers said Murr has been actively avoiding arrest since.
She has nine prior bookings, including charges related to hit and run, battery and drug possession.
Murr is described as 5 feet, 6 inches tall, weighing about 150 pounds, with several identifiable tattoos — an anchor on her right ankle, a ribbon on her right arm and the phrase “live, laugh, love” on her left wrist.
