Officer Jamie Bungard of the Cape Coral Police Department was named Officer of the Year at the Rotary Club of Fort Myers South Law & Order Ball on Saturday.

Officer Bungard currently works as the School Resource Officer at Oasis Middle School in Cape Coral.
Over his law enforcement career, Officer Bungard has worked patrol units, SWAT and helicopters.
He says “I love my job so much, that I don't feel like any of it extra. It just feels like what I'm supposed to do.”
He’s found the best way to keep kids safe is by forging relationships, "If I save a couple of kids a year from taking the wrong path or making bad decisions, I'm doing my job."
