A Fort Myers man with 22 prior convictions is wanted by authorities after failing a drug test.
Robert Edward Barnes Jr., 48, was originally arrested during a traffic stop after he was spotted driving recklessly. When police attempted to pull him over, Barnes kept driving for several blocks before he stopped.
Barnes was taken to jail because he had weed in the car. He was released until his next court date under the condition that he keep himself clean.
Two weeks ago, Barnes tested positive for meth and ecstasy. Now, he is wanted back in jail.
Barnes has been arrested 22 times on charges of drugs, battery, evidence tampering, resisting, loitering and prowling and failure to pay child support. He has served nearly 10 years in prison.
Barnes is 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighs 200 pounds, with a tattoo of a gun and wings on his chest, a joker on his right arm, and the phrase “Created to Deceive” on his left arm.
