A woman in Fort Myers is wanted by authorities for skipping court after she was charged with child abuse.
Abby Alicia Resilus, 38, was charged with aggravated child abuse for reportedly throwing hot water in a child's face. Reports say that she was frustrated with the child's behavior, so she took water from the microwave and threw it at the child.
She did not seek medical attention until the next day. Doctors had to refer the child to a burn clinic, as she had second-degree burns around her face and scarring that is likely to be permanent.
Resilus was arrested but released two days later on bond. When she finally had a court date set, she did not appear.
Resilus is 5 feet tall and 160 pounds, and upon her arrest, she will be held without bond in the Lee County Jail.
