A Lehigh Acres man was arrested Saturday night after deputies said he fatally stabbed another person during a domestic dispute at a home on Bermar Street.
According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a domestic disturbance call shortly before another call came in reporting a stabbing at the same location on Bermar Street in Lehigh Acres.
When deputies arrived, they said they found a person with a stab wound to the chest and attempted life-saving measures. The victim later died from the injuries.
Deputies detained a man walking toward the scene who matched the description of the suspect.
He was later identified as Alberto Arcia Lopez, 71, who detectives said had a domestic relationship with the victim. Investigators said Lopez stabbed the victim during an argument and then ran away.
While canvassing the area, deputies found the knife believed to have been used in the stabbing hidden in grass on a neighboring property. Lopez was arrested on a charge of second-degree murder.
