Fifteen-year-old Teagan Walker leads us into her backyard toward what might just be even cooler than a treehouse. Walker's "she shed," a light blue shed in her family's backyard, serves as her art studio, where her imagination runs wild.
"I'm working on a book right now," Teagan said. The characters in Teagan's fantasy fiction book are inspired by the journey of her rare heart condition.
"She had a large hole in the bottom of her heart that wasn't allowing enough of the blood to mix," said Tegan's mom, Lauren. "One of her nurses comes up and is like, 'Have you ever had a Make a Wish?"
"I got excited," said Teagan. "I was like, I could finally have my workspace!"
This January, the wait was over for Teagan, when Make a Wish drove her "she shed" to her house and placed it in her backyard.
"Seeing her reaction was everything, oh my gosh," said Lauren.
Thanks to Teagan's "shedquarters," the creative possibilities for her future are endless.
