Leoma Lovegrove, a well-known Southwest Florida artist, has died at the age of 72, according to a post on her Facebook page.
She died at her North Fort Myers home on April 10 with her husband, Michael Silberg, by her side.
In 2018, Lovegrove was diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer and began using her art to promote breast cancer awareness.
After Hurricane Ian, Lovegrove also found a way to turn hurricane debris into much more with her art skills .
According to the post , her family has launched the Leoma Lovegrove Foundation Fund to support the arts.
The public is invited to attend Lovegrove's "Celebration of Life" , which is scheduled for Monday, April 28, at the Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre. Anyone looking to attend is asked to RSVP by Wednesday, April 23.
