A vehicle pursuit involving a stolen car ended early Sunday morning in a wooded area in Charlotte County after the driver and a passenger ran from the car.
According to the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office, the vehicle slowed almost to a stop before the two suspects jumped out and ran into a nearby wooded area.
Aviation and K-9 units searched the area for several hours, but the suspects were not found.
CCSO said the investigation is ongoing, and more information will be released by the Criminal Investigation Unit when it becomes available.
No injuries were reported, and there was no traffic on the road at the time of the pursuit, deputies said.
