A Cape Coral resident was among the more than 30,000 people who ran the world's oldest annual marathon.
Xavier Duclos ran the Boston Marathon on Monday and had quite the support system cheering him on in Southwest Florida.
Duclos dedicates his life to creating healthy and balanced meals for the residents at Gulf Coast Village. He's the director of dining and culinary at the retirement community. Last week, the community threw him a pep rally sendoff to wish him luck.
“It’s probably the first time anybody has done something like that, so it's really nice. It's touching," said Duclos.
Now, Duclos is heading home with a shiny medal to show off.
