Lee County Parks & Recreation will be transitioning its paid parking locations to a unified payment system starting May 1.
This new system will allow everyone to pay by text message, a mobile app, through a website or at a kiosk.
The new parking vendor, Premium Parking, is already in use at various downtown Fort Myers locations.
At this point, the transition will only be taking place at Lee County Parks & Recreation locations at beach parks, boat ramps, and regional parks.
The $60 annual Lee County Parks & Recreation parking pass remains available; however, instead of a physical sticker, users will register their vehicle’s license plate digitally.
Parking rates at all Lee County Parks & Recreation locations will remain the same.
