The nonprofit, Lee BIA Builders Care , recently partnered with volunteers from Lee County Electric Cooperative to help a couple in need along the Gulf Coast.
Richard Woodruff and his wife live in Fort Myers. Woodruff is a retired electric services line foreman. His wife of 67 years is a home hospice patient. Much of Woodruff’s energy goes into caring for his wife. The outside of their home has slowly fallen into disrepair.
When the team at Lee BIA Builders Care and LCEC heard Woodruff’s story, they wanted to help. Volunteers recently stepped in to clean up unwanted items from the couple’s yard, pressure wash the home and driveway, pull weeds from the front of the home, and trim all the overgrown grass in their backyard.
Coastal Waste and Devoted Restoration provided a dumpster and an industrial pressure washer for the project.
Since 2005, Lee BIA Builders Care has helped nearly 500 individuals and families. Lee BIA Builders Care is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization under the charitable arm of the Lee Building Industry Association.
