The Sanibel Police Department offered clarification on what the yellow flashing lights mean on school zone speed limit signs.
The police department says that one of their most frequently asked questions is what the signs mean and how to know when to drive what speed limit.
According to Sanibel PD, when the yellow lights next to the sign are flashing, that is when the school zone speed limit is in affect. When the lights are not flashing, you may go the regular speed limit.
