Two men have been arrested in connection with a home invasion robbery that took place in Port Charlotte in 2024.
According to court documents, the robbery happened after Charlotte County deputies say Amber Brown was meeting a man in person after speaking to him on secretbenefits.com.
After Brown arrived at the victim's home, two men rang the doorbell and pushed their way inside when the victim answered the door.
Once inside, the report states they stole the victim's chains from his neck, pushed him down, and tied him up before demanding to know where his money was, and the victim directed them to $1,500 in his closet.
Brown was arrested for being a part of the robbery scheme. The other two men, Christopher Andrew Clark and Pete Bertolotti, were arrested the next day on separate charges in Lee County before they were served a warrant for the robbery.
The two men were transferred and arrested in Charlotte County on April 23.
Clark and Bertolotti are now in the Charlotte County jail on charges of home invasion robbery, battery on a victim 65 years of age, and false imprisonment.
