In recent years, medications like Ozempic and Wegovy have transformed the way people treat their weight management. But now, the Food and Drug Administration has issued some restrictions to these injections.
Justin Ceravolo, pharmacist and owner of Cypress Wellness Pharmacy, joined Gulf Coast News to explain how this will impact weight loss injections and what alternative and natural options you can try.
The FDA is urging patients and doctors to check that their compounded GLP-1 weight loss injections prescriptions are legitimate after the agency seized several hundred units of fake versions of the diabetes drug in the U.S. FDA officials have now banned the sale of compounded versions of the medications.
However, Ceravolo suggests more natural and healthy options to use to help with your weight loss. He recommends looking at vitamins and supplements that can support healthy weight management. Supplements like metabolic probiotic with Akkermansia or Crave Control.
