A man was arrested in Englewood for stealing a boat that was chained to the owner's home on Thursday, April 24.
The owner of the boat reported to a Charlotte County deputy that while he was away at his other residence, his daughter called him to say his boat was missing from his home.
The boat was left chained to the pillars that his house rested on.
Tristan Royer, 41, was spotted by a CCSO sergeant driving a boat with a motor that had been painted over. The next day, Royer was spotted onboard a boat that was not his and was brought down to the District 1 office to be questioned.
When asked about the painted motor on the boat he was seen driving, he claimed he had bought it from someone.
When confronted with stealing another man's boat and motor, he eventually confessed.
Royer has been charged with dealing with stolen property.
