Fort Myers Beach officials announced the town will be removed from probation under the National Flood Insurance Program after meeting the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s requirements.
According to a news release from the town of Fort Myers Beach, its removal from probation will go into effect on Nov. 18.
Officials said the town completed the five action items that were set by FEMA in 2024 .
This will also end the $50 surcharge that was added to all National Flood Insurance Program policies in the town.
