A Naples man was arrested on Tuesday after being accused of exposing himself to children in a lewd or lascivious manner in March.
According to the Naples Police Department, Stephen Noreus, 67, was arrested after they received a call on March 29 about a man exposing himself to minors at the River Park Playground. During the incident, four children were on the playground, including the victim and minor witness.
In the NPD report, it's noted that the victim and witness asked Noreus why he exposed himself to the other children. Noreus responded by pulling his pants down and exposing himself to the victim and witness. He then walked away from the playground and stated that he did not care.
One of the children present was between the ages of 4 and 6 years old. Noreus told detectives that he was asked by one of the children if he was their "daddy." However, one of the children told officers at the scene that Noreus said "I'm your daddy" while exposing himself, according to the report.
The victim and witness ran to tell the minor witness' mother about what happened, according to the NPD. While they were still at the playground, both children identified Noreus as the man that exposed himself to the group of children.
After an investigation, Noreus was detained and later arrested and transported to the Naples Jail Center on Tuesday. He now faces a felony charge of lewd or lascivious exhibition.
