Police detained three men and recovered a stolen excavator in northeast Cape Coral on Saturday.
According to a Cape Coral Police Department incident report, around 7:30 p.m. on April 25, police responded to a call about a possible theft of an orange excavator.
After police contacted the Lee County Sheriff's Office, they were alerted to three men behind a home "manipulating an orange tractor."
When police checked the serial number, it was listed as stolen. The three unnamed men were detained. However, it's unknown whether they were arrested or facing any charges.
The excavator was then returned to the owner without incident.
