A Cape Coral man was arrested after being accused of attempted robbery and battery at a McDonald's on Wednesday.
The Cape Coral Police Department dispatched officers to the McDonald's located on Del Prado Boulevard N at 4:11 a.m. When police arrived and spoke to a witness, they said a man got into an argument with an employee before trying to steal the cash drawer. He then left in his car.
When police watched the surveillance footage, it confirmed what the witness said.
After taking fingerprints of the door that the suspect used and posting images of the suspect on social media, deputies were able to identify the suspect as Bray Allen Bamberger, 32.
When detectives arrived at Bamberger's home in Cape Coral, Bamberger spoke with detectives. According to him, during the incident, he went through the drive-thru and, after not getting any service, he got frustrated and went into the store. He says he had no intention of actually stealing the money, but was frustrated and made a bad decision.
Bamberger was taken to Lee County Jail and charged with two counts of battery and one count of attempted robbery.
