The Lee County Sheriff's Office is continuing to investigate a road rage incident that took place near McGregor Boulevard and College Parkway Wednesday night, involving a shooting.
The sheriff's office confirmed with Gulf Coast News Thursday night that two males were involved.
Lee County deputies told a Gulf Coast News crew at the scene that there were shots fired in the area Wednesday evening.
Gulf Coast News went back to the Maple Garden Condos to talk to neighbors about the shooting that took place. One resident said she was in the pool with her friends at around 6 in the evening, then heard rapid gunshots.
"Didn't know if it was a McGregor or if it was coming into a complex You know, everything echoes around here and kind of went back and then my neighbor downstairs said, oh, there's police here, you know, kind of went outside, talked to a couple officers, and they explained road rage, like over near Publix," said Sharon Schmidt. "It kind of felt like when you have a string of firecrackers."
According to an LCSO post on X , all parties involved are accounted for, and no injuries have been reported. LCSO also said its violent crimes unit is investigating.
We are working to find out what led up to the incident.
