A Lehigh Acres mother of two went from helping head and neck cancer patients to needing help herself. In Positively Gulf Coast, we're glad to say she'll be celebrating Mother's Day at home with her family.
Marina Church has volunteered with the Partners in Care Donut Dash for years. It's a benefit for head and neck cancer patients.
Not long ago, she felt unusual lumps in her own throat. The volunteers she worked with for years surrounded her with support. They got her through the testing, treatment and recovery from her own cancer.
We're glad to report Church is now cancer-free and returned to this year's benefit, reunited with several members of her care team.
