New water regulations will be in effect for an area of Cape Coral starting Friday.
The South Florida Water Management District says that more water restrictions are for the area connected to the Mid-Hawthorn aquifer, south of the Gator Slough Canal.
The regulations will prohibit residents and business owners from using outdoor sprinklers.
Construction workers also will not be able to use water from the aquifer to build.
This comes after aquifer levels are reported to be dangerously low.
