The School District of Lee County said no final decision has been made yet on where Fort Myers Beach Elementary School students will go next year.
On the district's April construction services report, the school is listed as being "on hold".
According to the school district, parents have known since January that students would not be returning in the fall.
The district is waiting on an independent analysis by an outside contractor to advise what the next step should be. Officials said the analysis is underway.
District officials said school board members should get the results at next month's workshop, which is scheduled for June 3.
Students are currently attending San Carlos Elementary.
