A man convicted of drug trafficking was sentenced to 50 years in prison and ordered to pay $1.9 million in fines Tuesday in Fort Myers after being found guilty of distributing cocaine, fentanyl and methamphetamine.
According to the State Attorney’s Office, Kevin Joseph Jaimes, 30, was arrested in 2023 as part of a NETFORCE operation in Lee County.
He was convicted in April on 15 charges, including trafficking and conspiracy to traffic large quantities of cocaine, fentanyl and methamphetamine. Assistant State Attorney Kate Rumley, chief of narcotics, and Assistant State Attorney Adam Sullivan prosecuted the case.
The sentence includes several mandatory minimum terms. The longest penalties include 25 years for conspiracy to traffic more than 28 grams of fentanyl, and 20 years for conspiracy to traffic more than 200 grams of methamphetamine.
Each of those charges also carries six-figure fines, contributing to the total of $1.9 million.
Some sentences will be served at the same time, while others will be served back-to-back. Four co-defendants in the case still face pending charges.
