United Way of Collier and the Keys is celebrating another successful tax season.
The nonprofit's free tax assistance program helped 360 local taxpayers this year, securing nearly $230,000 in refunds. It also helped families save about $100,000 in preparation fees.
The program relies on community support to thrive.
"We don't receive funding from the federal government, from the IRS, to provide this program to our community. So we really rely on our donors and our great philanthropic community to help support us," said Tiffany Mench, the president and CEO for United Way of Collier and the Keys.
United Way also thanked the 25 volunteers who made this year's impact possible.
